Vintage Quilt Repair & Restoration
Preserving the Past, One Stitch at a Time
Welcome to the Vintage Quilt Repair service — where treasured quilts are given new life with care, craftsmanship, and deep respect for their history.
If you have a damaged quilt top in need of repair, I can help restore its beauty and extend its life. My repair process includes carefully applied raw-edge appliqué to reinforce worn areas, and patching larger rips or tears with fabrics that closely match the quilt’s original style and era. Every effort is made to honor the quilt’s time period, construction, and fabric design, ensuring the finished piece remains true to its story.
🧵 Repair Pricing & Process:
Base price: $450 per quilt (due to the intensive handwork and time required)
Final pricing will be determined after an in-person consultation, based on the extent of the damage and work needed
If your quilt requires new batting, backing, or binding, recommendations will be made during the initial assessment
All restoration work is approached with sensitivity and a commitment to blending fabrics in a way that complements the original quilt. Wherever possible, vintage-style materials will be used to maintain the authenticity of the piece.
📅 Timeline & Deposit:
Turnaround time: Approximately 4–6 months, depending on the scope of the project
A 50% deposit is required to begin the work
If your quilt holds sentimental value and you’d like to preserve it for future generations, this service offers a meaningful and meticulous way to do just that.
Let’s bring your quilt back to life — one stitch at a time.
Before: This vintage quilt had substantial damage, on the top, with blocks loose and missing. The batting was bunched up and missing in several areas.

I separated the quilt and added new batting and backing, repaired all the separating sections and replaced 2 blocks with new blue and pink fabric.
My customer was very happy with the quilt and how it turned out.
This was a fun project, my customer had a damaged family quilt that she wanted to share with her 4 sisters. Two sisters wanted wall hangings and the other two wanted paintings with the remnant mounted to the canvas.
